Luis Osuna immigrated to the U.S. with his family from Tijuana, Mexico, at the age of six. He spent his formative years in southern San Diego before leaving for college. He is a proud graduate of U.C. Berkeley where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2005.

He subsequently returned to San Diego to pursue his legal studies where he attended California Western School of Law. In 2012 he graduated from California Western School of Law and joined–what was then the law firm of Golper, Sullivan & Rivera and is now known as Sullivan, Rivera, Osuna & Sullivan–and began practicing personal injury, medical malpractice and workers compensation.

In his decade-long career he has represented hundreds of clients from all walks of life who have sustained injuries that have unexpectedly, and often irrevocably, disrupted their lives. Through his deep sense of empathy and his commitment to obtaining just outcomes for his clients, he has managed to successfully resolve, in total, millions of dollars in claims through settlements and jury verdicts.

Additionally, Mr. Osuna is actively involved in the community. He is a past board member and past president of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and a former board member of the Chicano Federation. His practice largely focuses on providing legal assistance to the Latino community. To that end, Mr. Osuna often gives presentations at local unions and non-profits in an effort to educate workers about their rights, particularly when they are injured on the job.

In 2016 he was nominated by Councilmember David Alvarez to serve on the City of San Diego’s Independent Rates and Oversight Commission (IROC). Shortly thereafter, he was appointed to IROC by former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer. In his capacity as a lawyer and community leader, Mr. Osuna has made multiple media appearances on both local and national networks, including on Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, and has been interviewed and quoted on national news publications, such as The Washington Post.
